Kubusi 'DIY Hunting & Survival Experience'

from £1,750.00

Seven days. Five places per year. One genuine wilderness experience.

This is not a conventional safari. The Kubusi DIY Hunting & Survival Experience is a seven-day wilderness challenge combining practical survival training with five days living in the field alongside an experienced professional guide.

You'll be collected from Gqeberha Airport by your guide and transferred to Tuskers Lodge, where the experience begins with two days of hands-on instruction covering trapping and snares, indigenous plants and foraging, firearm safety, and the preparation and preservation of meat.

Then the real challenge begins.

For the following five days, you'll head into the wilderness with your guide and hunting dog. The principle is simple: what you forage, trap or hunt is what you eat.

Typical Itinerary

Days 1–2 – Survival Preparation
Based at the lodge, learn essential skills including trapping and snares, identification and use of indigenous plants, firearm safety, and meat preparation and preservation.

Days 3–7 – Into the Wilderness
Leave the lodge behind and head into the field. Accompanied by a professional guide, tracker and hunting dog, you'll put the skills you've learned into practice while living from what the team can forage, trap or hunt.

Your Team
The experience is led by Roxanne Williamson, a qualified Professional Hunter and FGASA guide with six years' experience in the South African Air Force.

As this is a more personal experience, Roxanne Williamson guides female guests, while Jared de Beer guides male guests. Jared is also a qualified Professional Hunter and FCASA guide.

Both are survivalists, qualified in First Aid, licensed Professional Hunters and FGASA guides with military training, bringing extensive field knowledge and practical experience to the week.

With only five places available per year, this is a highly limited experience designed for those looking for something considerably more challenging and immersive than a traditional hunting safari.

The animals included depend on the selected package option:

  • Option 1 – £1,750:
    2 × Small Animals

  • Option 2 – £2,950:
    1 × Small Animal + 1 × Large Animal

Select your preferred animal options when choosing your package.
